Born and Braised began in 2012 when school friends from the San Francisco Bay Area reunited after grade school. Adam had been serving hot dogs from a pop-up vendor, and Brian was a sous-chef on the rising food-truck scene. After commiserating over the catered fare that a class reunion provides, the pair decided to combine their passion for the culinary arts into an after-hours party. Word quickly spread among alumni, and demand for a cuisine inspired by local tradition began to appear. Before year’s end, Adam and Brian had served dinners to a growing network of Bay Area foodies, and received investment interest in a restaurant. In 2014, Born and Braised opened in the city’s bustling financial district, and has been serving outstanding fare ever since.
